description

SB 203580 is a p38 specific inhibitor that prevents the downstream activation of heat shock protein 27 and MAP kinase-activated protein kinase 2 (MAPKAPK2). It can have anti-proliferative activity on cytokine-activated lymphocytes and is reported to be used to enhance cardiomyocyte differentiation. The hydrochloride form is more soluble in organic solvents than the standard formulation.
