description

EX 527 is a selective inhibitor of NAD-dependent deacetylase sirtuin-1 (SIRT1) to the exclusion of histone deacetylases (HDACs) and other sirtuins. It is reported that inhibiting SIRT1 is associated with increasing insulin sensitivity and effecting other metabolic regulatory functions. EX 527 was used to determine that the inactivation of SirT1 stimulates tumor cell proliferation.
