Trichostatin A
Catalog Number : 5881960
description
Trichostatin A (TSA) is an antifungal antibiotic and a selective class I and II histone deacetylase inhibitor. It prevents the removal of acetyl groups from lysine residues on histone tails and can also be used to inhibit the cell cycle of eukaryotic cells at the beginning of their growth stage. TSA is also reported to have anti-cancer properties by promoting the expression of apoptosis related genes. It is also been used to increase the efficiency of the reprogramming of induced pluripotent stem cells and as a useful epigenetic modifier.
