description

Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure recombinant Rat IL‑1β.  Anti-Rat IL‑1β specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Rat IL‑1β matrix.

Additional Information

Application: ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry. Neutralization
Immunogen
Anti-Rat IL-1β (BioGems Catalog #400-01B)
Clone:
Polyclonal Rabbit
Format:
purified
Applications:
Immunohistochemistery:
This antibody stained colchicine injected rat brain (including the ventricles and the CA3 region of the hippocampus) tissue.  The primary antibody was incubated at 0.25 μg/ml overnight at 4˚C.  This was followed by a peroxidase conjugated secondary antibody and then a fluorescein Tyramide Signal Amplification (TSA™) reagent.  Optimal concentrations and conditions may vary.    Information and photo are courtesy of the Tissue Profiling group, SciLifeLab Stockholm.
Neutralization:
To yield one-half maximal inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity of Rat IL-1β (0.20 ng/ml), a concentration of 0.09-0.14 µg/ml of this antibody is required.
Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Rat IL-1β by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μl/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5 - 2.0 μg/ml of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with BioGems' Biotinylated Anti-Rat IL-1β (62-001BBT) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant Rat IL-1β.
Western Blot:
To detect Rat IL-1β by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 µg/ml. When used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for recombinant Rat IL-1β is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
