description

Nicotinamide is an amide of nicotinic acid, a vitamin of the B complex. In cells, it is incorporated into NADP+ and NAD+, coenzymes for a wide variety of enzymatic oxidation-reduction reactions. Nicotinamide is reported to exhibit anti-inflammatory properties and promote the differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells to insulin producing cells in conjunction with growth factors and other reagents. Nicotinamide suppresses sirtuin activity and is used to promote the formation and increase the lifespan of organoids.
