Chemotaxis is a chemically prompted movement in which cells or certain organisms direct their movement according to certain chemicals in their environment. The movement is controlled by concentration gradient of soluble extracellular agents. Positive chemotaxis is the movement towards higher concentration of desired molecules and negative chemotaxis is movements away from undesired molecules. Chemotaxis has been implicated to diseases such as arthritis, psoriasis, metabolic tumors, Hodgkin Disease, infertility and more.
